We are committed to helping every patient maintain excellent oral health and to giving them a smile they are proud of. This can range from detailed, personalised treatment plans, to quick and easy steps to a perfect smile.
For patients who have crooked front teeth, we offer the Inman Aligner, a simple, removable teeth straightening treatment that can give you fantastic results in as little as 10 – 16 weeks.
The Inman Aligner is a straightforward, pressure-based device which doesn’t have to be fixed to the teeth with brackets, ideal for those who want to continue enjoying their favourite food and drinks, and great for easy cleaning of the mouth and aligner. Instead, it uses a coil spring that gently realigns the teeth, without the need for full braces.
Your dentist will work closely with you to understand your requirements and assess your suitability for an Inman Aligner, as well as answering any questions you may have. For patients looking to go ahead with this treatment, an impression will be made of the teeth, which is then sent to the lab in order to produce your custom-made aligner.
Once your aligner is ready, you will return to the practice for the fitting and to discuss the use and maintenance of the aligner. For best results it should be worn for 16 – 20 hours each day, with check-ups by your dentist every 2-3 weeks. When you are wearing your aligner, you will be able to see the silver bar across the front of your teeth, but the majority of the aligner is behind the teeth or towards the back of the mouth.
You may experience a little discomfort initially as the treatment begins, in addition to a slight effect on your speech, but this should all settle down after a week or two as you become accustomed to it. After only a few weeks your crooked or misaligned front teeth will have moved into position and you will be able to confidently show off your new smile.
The Inman Aligner uses a unique mechanism to straighten the teeth. It consists of two main components: a coiled spring and a metal bar. The coiled spring applies gentle pressure to the teeth, while the metal bar pushes them into place. The appliance works by aligning the front teeth through constant pressure, which gradually moves the teeth into the correct position. Because the aligner is removable, you can take it out while eating or cleaning your teeth, providing greater flexibility compared to fixed braces.
The Inman Aligner offers a number of benefits for patients seeking a faster and more discreet solution for straightening their teeth, including:
The process of using the Inman Aligner is straightforward and generally involves the following steps:
During your consultation at Chiswick Park Dental, our orthodontist will assess your teeth and determine if the Inman Aligner is suitable for you. We will take digital X-rays and impressions of your teeth to create a custom treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Once your aligner is ready, you will come in for a fitting appointment. The aligner will be placed over your front teeth, and we will check that it fits comfortably and correctly. You will be given instructions on how to wear and care for the aligner, and we’ll schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress.
You will need to wear the Inman Aligner for around 16-20 hours per day, only removing it to eat and clean your teeth. During the treatment, you will visit our office regularly for check-ups and to make any necessary adjustments.
Once your front teeth have reached their desired position, the treatment will be complete. Our orthodontist will remove the Inman Aligner, and you will be given a retainer to help maintain your new smile and prevent your teeth from shifting back.
The Inman Aligner is a removable orthodontic device designed to straighten front teeth quickly using a gentle, pressure-based system with a coil spring. It is ideal for patients with mild to moderate alignment issues.
For optimal results, the Inman Aligner should be worn 16 to 20 hours per day, with regular check-ups every 2-3 weeks.
While the aligner does feature a visible silver bar across the front of your teeth, the majority of the aligner is positioned behind the teeth, making it less visible.
Some initial discomfort is common as your teeth adjust, and there might be a slight effect on speech at the beginning. However, these issues generally subside after a week or two.
